“They are imprisoned”: how rapists and pedophiles are treated in colonies

The zone lives by “concepts,” and, according to them, certain types of crimes are unacceptable. In particular, these include rape and pedophilia.

The life of those convicted under these articles in colonies is very difficult. They are daily forced to endure bullying and torture from fellow inmates who use the same methods of violence against them that they themselves previously used against their victims.

What they do in prison with rapists and pedophiles, and whether there is salvation for them from this hell - we’ll talk further.

Rapists and pedophiles: punishment under the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation

According to current legislation, such crimes are classified as criminal acts committed against sexual freedom and integrity.

Art. 131 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation is called “Rape” and provides for liability for sexual contact with an adult partner, against his will, in the form of imprisonment for 3-6 years.

Rape of a minor child is punishable by 15 years in prison, and of a minor child by 20 years in prison.

When rape is an independent type of crime, it leaves an indelible mark on the psyche of a child or adult victim. But, more often than not, episodes of violence are associated with other types of crimes.

Most often, this is murder. Trying to hide evidence, criminals kill their victims after rape.

As soon as the verdict in the rapist's case comes into force, they begin to prepare for the stage. What awaits them at the end of this journey, when their cellmates learn the specifics of the act they committed, they certainly have no idea.

In the spotlight

So why don't they like rapists in prison? In the world of thieves' laws, violence has always been recognized as an dishonest thing.

Theft and murder are something completely different. They are committed exclusively in cold blood based on certain motives.

And using special harshness towards one’s victim, committing violence against a defenseless person is already a mental deviation. That is why other prisoners are wary of such new arrivals and administer their own justice to them.

Until a verdict is passed in cases of violence and pedophilia, such defendants are not touched in the pre-trial detention center.

In the colonies, no one likes to make mistakes, and no one is in a hurry to begin humiliating a person who may not be guilty at all. Therefore, while the trial is ongoing, the rapist defendant has nothing to fear.

There are cases when cellmates or observers get acquainted with the verdict of a newcomer and do not believe the information contained in it. But this happens extremely rarely. Usually the facts of violence are unconditionally proven, and the guilt of the defendant becomes undeniable.

As soon as the verdict in the case of violence comes into force, the convict will begin to be “lowered” . This can happen even in a pre-trial detention center if he does not have time to be transferred.

But even if he manages to get into the last departing carriage of the train along the stage, the same thing will await him already in the colony. He still won’t be able to hide his article.

Realities of society

In our modern society, the topic of pedophilia is very easy to raise; the risk group may include teachers and leaders of children's sections and clubs. On their way, they may come across an inadequate parent who may see sexual overtones in his actions, and then it won’t be a big deal.

However, it is impossible to talk now about real cases and real life behind bars with one hundred percent certainty. Usually stories from this life come to us in a corrected or mutilated version, because no one tells the naked truth.

How are rapists treated in prison?

To put it mildly, rapists are not favored in prison. They automatically join the ranks of the lowest caste – the “degraded”.

The life of members of this caste is very different from the life of other convicts. How are such new arrivals released into the colonies?

The main features of the existence of the “omitted” look like this:

  • They do the most unpleasant work: they clean toilets, take out buckets, work as stokers;
  • They have their own special utensils for eating and places for washing;
  • It is forbidden to touch them and sit next to someone from a lower caste;
  • They sleep in a special “rooster corner”;
  • They are used for various sexual contacts.

Rapists and pedophiles have no rights in the zone . They always owe or are obliged to do something.

When a representative of another caste walks along a cell or corridor, those who are lowered are obliged to give way to him and press against the wall.

How are rapists punished in prison?

Those convicted under the article “Rape” are subject to sexual slavery in the zone. They will regularly play the role of lovers or prostitutes for all those who wish to do so.

In order for the rapist to be officially classified as a caste of the “lowered”, his initiation is necessary.

We will explain below what exactly happens during this procedure.

Usually, initiation into this caste of rapists takes place in a special way. The whole camera gathers to witness this dedication with their own eyes.

Usually, as a “lowering”, oral or anal contact with such a convict is carried out. Sometimes it is replaced by simply actions of a sexual nature without the actual sexual contact, for example, holding a penis across the face or something like that.

How else are those who raped people in the wild punished? One of the main rules of contact with the “lowered”: do not eject biological masses after sexual contact anywhere other than the “lowered” one.

That is, it is prohibited to release sperm in any way in the chamber itself. This is considered a gross violation of order.

The one who has been “let down” after a sexual relationship must definitely pay back. Cigarettes, condensed milk, and candy are used as payment for his work.

Sometimes the “lowered” become lovers of only one partner. To do this, most often, they choose a more influential prisoner who protects them from other prisoners.

According to prison laws, no one else can offer sexual contact to someone who is already taken.

Such rapists do well. They, as a rule, stop working altogether, devoting themselves only to satisfying the sexual desires of their “master.”

In the zone, those “omitted” receive female names.

In the wild, such formerly “dismissed” people often lead ordinary lives, start families and give birth to children. But the second time they enter the zone, their past is always revealed with one hundred percent probability.

How are pedophiles treated in prison?

Pedophiles in the zone are considered even more humiliating individuals than ordinary rapists.

It is not clear why people in prison do not like child rapists. Most likely, the point is that each of the convicts has his own child, and sacredly honors his freedom and inviolability. None of them would want such a mentally unstable person to take advantage of their child.

But in fact, what do they do with pedophiles in the zone, what do they do with them in the pre-trial detention center? Pedophiles have a slightly different life in prison.

This is due to the fact that they receive a more severe punishment than those convicted of ordinary adult rape. So, let's look at how pedophiles live in the zone.

Pedophiles do not live in general barracks; they serve their sentences in small cells.

In fact, for 2021, the task of the Federal Penitentiary Service is to protect pedophiles as much as possible from contact with other convicts. This is clear, because for them one such contact can result in death.

If the beholder or another convicted pedophile doesn't like something, he can be beaten or even killed. The excess deaths in the zone attract increased attention to the conditions of convicts' detention. The leadership of the colonies does not need this.

So, the life of a pedophile includes the following features:

  • Pedophiles do not work in heavy production; they are provided with light work regimes;
  • One or two neighbors in a pedophile’s small cell are always the quietest and most non-conflicting guys;
  • For money, a pedophile can not only pay off the eternal harassment of convicts, but also buy a smartphone, with which he will continue to write letters with sexual overtones to little girls and boys.

Some of them are even serving life sentences for child abuse. As a rule, this occurs when the death of a child occurs.

In prisons for life, pedophiles are kept in solitary confinement. No one poses a danger to them there.

However, in a pre-trial detention center, pedophiles can get it from their cellmates. But again, the prisoners will begin to take action only after the pedophile’s guilt has been proven.

If the rapist himself pleads guilty, then the beginning of the abuse does not even require the entry into force of the sentence.

Rapists and pedophiles are unhealthy people, their social danger reaches prohibitive levels . Life is hard for them both in the zone and in the wild.

In prison, rapists have to serve in sexual slavery; in the wild, they are hated for the rest of their lives.

On top of everything else, unfortunately, these people do not feel repentant, and again continue to hatch plans in their heads to molest children or rape women.

Not with me. My 18-year-old son was sentenced to 8 years for drug trafficking

Natalya Leukhina is the mother of a guy who, at the age of 18, was convicted of drug trafficking and sent to prison for eight years. Previously, she managed her own company; after her son was imprisoned, she left the business and is engaged in volunteer and public activities to prevent various types of addictions and help mothers whose children use drugs or are serving a sentence for their distribution and possession. Six years is like one long day. It's as if time has stood still. This is how the mother of an eighteen-year-old boy who became a criminal serving a sentence in a maximum security colony describes her life. Eight long years, during which, with some luck, there will be 16 short dates through glass and with a telephone handset and, at best, ten meetings when the opportunity to hug your son is presented. He went to prison as an 18-year-old boy and will return as a 26-year-old man.

And also - life with constant condemnation of others and endless questions to myself: “What did I do wrong? How could I have prevented it? Our project “Not with me” continues. Of course, every parent who watches this video will say: “This won’t happen to me. I am vigilant and strict. I will be able to see the first signs of impending trouble in advance.” Saying this, look carefully into the eyes of our heroine and understand: no one is safe from such a nightmare.

Here are some quotes from the video interview:

  • Imagine that you are buying shoes for your son. He calls and says that the leg has grown and the shoes are too small. It's October, the next transmission can only be sent in 4 months. What's going on with you? You go to bed and cry, you wake up and cry, realizing that you can’t do anything. You live and feel it there, worrying about not getting sick, not freezing, not being beaten.
  • I wasn't sure I would agree to this interview. But then I thought that if my story helps at least one person on Earth to avoid the catastrophe that I faced, this will probably be the meaning of my life.
  • We, mothers of convicted children, often hear that we raised our children poorly. I have a question: what specific techniques and methods are there for proper upbringing? Because I still don’t understand what my mistake was. Having analyzed it, I can say that the majority of parents whose children were convicted under the “drug” article are not people of a low social level; it cannot be said that they ignored the educational process.
  • My son said: there are no children who have not used drugs to one degree or another. There are parents who don't know about this.
  • To be honest, I didn’t know the word “spice” in 2013. I was afraid that my son would become addicted to beer.
  • I will be haunted to the end by how I misjudged the threat. I tried to prevent my son’s friendship with several guys who, in my opinion, led an unfavorable lifestyle. The most amazing thing is that it was these guys who came to the trial; they were the ones who supported me in the first years. Everything is fine with them so far, but all his friends from prosperous families ended up in prison.
  • Everyone was terribly afraid of this topic. Nobody wanted to talk about it. As soon as you mentioned Article 328 and said the word “drugs,” people’s eyes widened in fear, they asked: “Quiet, quiet, quiet! Don’t say anything about it!”
  • I am grateful to the lawyer for the fact that on the first day he honestly said that he could not help us in any way, that the issue was completely unsolvable. He said that he could only take money for meeting his son in the pre-trial detention center and passing information between us.
  • I don’t remember well how I survived the verdict. All I remember is the sound of my shaking knuckles hitting the wooden bench in the courtroom. Apparently, I was holding on to it and it hit me so hard that it sounded like this.
  • They not only imprisoned our son, they imprisoned us along with him. Many parents who find themselves in the same situation as us have the same view. This is life from transmission to transmission, from date to date.
  • Some mothers, whom I now ask when their children, imprisoned for “drug” charges, will be released, answer me with a trembling voice: “2029.” These numbers are beyond our heads.
  • I couldn’t go into my son’s room for a year and a half. I just knew that he should be there, but he wasn’t, and I was just terrified. And I was able to force myself to go through his things only four years after the incident.
  • It turned out that my son grew up in prison. I walk past his photograph at home, where he is very young, and then there is a long gap in the family album. All these six years are like one long day. It's as if time has stood still.
